Tagata was born in the South Pacific islands of American Samoa and raised in the San Francisco bay area. He spent 7 years of his life there before moving to the main lands. Having a passion for music, Tagata started playing piano in grade school and he got more serious about it and music as he committed his life to Jesus Christ. Tagata grew to love music and his understanding of it over the years. Without any formal musical training; all of his musical gifts have been from God and lots of practice. Tagata has been a music director for a few churches over the last 25 years.
Today Tagata continues to create, play and sing his music where ever he's invited. He has recorded 2 CD projects over the years, No Ordinary Man in 2001 followed by an album in his native language (Samoan) released in 2007, Ia Vi'ia Oe. Tagata has just released his 3rd album August 2016 Tree Of Mercy. In addition to helping with worship at his church, Tagata also produces, arranges, consults, voice coach, band director and writes music.

His music inspirations are Walter Hawkins, Andre Crouch, Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin, Earth Wind & Fire, Tower Of Power, P-Funk and many others.

Tagata is married to his beautiful and lovely wife Sharon Ameperosa and together they have 3 boys Ishmael, Anthony & Tau. They currently attend and serve at New North Church in San Bruno California and reside in his beloved hometown South San Francisco.
